Rare Antique Japanese Cloisonné Enamel Ginbari Vase, Meiji Period.The flower vase was created with Ginbari Cloisonné Technique that uses turquoise transparent enamel over silver foil background and than accented with purple Chrysanthemum flowers and leaves applied in copper wires. Intricate work with fine details speaks of high quality.This Miniature detailed cloisonné technique creates two dimensional effect and emphasizes the beauty of Chrysanthemum Flower. Unfortunately the vase was severely damaged and later professionally restored.It keeps it's shape but has restored crack in the back and some minor discoloration. The central part of the vase with the flower is intact, no cracks there. It is still a gorgeous piece to enjoy and contemplate. The vase is 5" tall and 2 1/4" wide in the shoulders. Copper base and rim. Reasonably priced considering defect.
