Tradtional woodworking hide glue pot (double boiler style)

Description:
If you collect tools or are an avid woodworker these need to be in your collection. This is where the old timers would get the glue to put projects together. The pot was filled with water and placed on a wood stove in the shop. The hide glue or animal product glue was placed in the second pot and submerged in the double style boiler or glue pot. When they needed glue it was always ready to use. Still found today in some of the traditional woodworking shops hide glue is still available for some applications. If you want a joint to be able to be re glued the hide glue is best. Example would be chair rungs that get loose from use. Just heat up the joint and re-glue the areas for a quick repair. Come see a true collectible tool form the past in space #46 at Stars next to the front counter.
